Sans Souci Speakers Club

The Sans Souci Mentor Team

As a highly successful Public Speaking Club we have now introduced our very own Sans Souci Mentoring Team to provide even more support to the club membership.  Members can call upon the various experience of our mentors to provide any level of support from discussing a title to fully blown practice and feedback, ready for that all important speech.

The club mentors offer their time and their experience as one of little extra benefits at Sans Souci.

Meet the Team:

Lilian Watts

There is genuinely no other person in the club that is more qualified to pass on the knowledge and experience of public speaking than our very own Lilian Watts.  Not only a founding member (in 1985), Lilian has been Club president (several times), Area president and District President!  With a number of awards that have included the Basic and Advances ASC section in 1991/92 and the Lamda Gold Medal for Public Speaking with Honours in 1997.

Lilian has also delivered many seminars for members of the ASC throughout the country and we are hugely blessed with Lilians support at Sans Souci.

Philip Brown

Philip joined Sans Souci in 2009 and has delivered speeches to level B9, in addition to providing Evaluations, Topics and Chairmanship.  Outside the Club Phil has spoken at a number of conventions and delivered corporate presentations at all levels of business.

“There is nothing that compares to knowing you have been able to help another person with delivering their speech for the first time or succeed in delivering a more challenging assignment”.

Carol Bullimore

Carol is a long standing member of the Sans Souci Public Speakers Club.  In addition, her contribution has extended to many of the committee positions that help ensure the successful running of this fine establishment.

As an entrepreneur who runs her very own business, Carol is aware of just how important communication skills are.  In her early career Carols role also included providing support to new businesses, before making the jump herself, so mentoring is close to second nature.

Janet Wakeman

Janet has been a member of the club for a number of years (so long that Janet refuses to say exactly how long).

With a plethora of experience and a keen understanding of many of the roles that public speaking support you will not be disappointing.

Janet’s support of the club includes many positions such as President and Education Director.

Bob Wooldridge

Our hugely knowledgeable member, Bob, has a range of experience in public presentation from some minor involvement with amateur dramatics to representing and presenting for the R.N.L.I. in 45 minutes talks illustrated with 35 mm slides (PowerPoint eat your heart out!) about lifeboats.

Bob is an active supporter of the community with reading lessons in church and as a team leader for the Solihull
Talking Newspaper for the blind.  Having joined Sans Souci many many years ago, when Sans Souci was still in its infancy at the Teachers Training Center in Shirley, Bob has a lot to offer as a mentor and supporter to any budding Public Speaker.
